Why I'm running for office

I'm running for office because I believe in servant leadership and have a deep commitment to serving our community. After 11 years in Trophy Club, I've witnessed firsthand the challenges our growing community has faced.

With the current leadership and the proposed five-year Master Plan in place, I believe there’s still an opportunity for additional positive change, and I can bring added value to the table. To better understand the challenges our community faces, I’ll be working closely with our Police Department, Fire Department, and crossing guards with the support of our Council and Town Manager. Why is this important? These dedicated teams are the unsung heroes who keep our community safe, secure, and well-maintained.

Many of you who have reached out to me in the past know that I always make time to listen to your concerns and feedback. By spending more time in our town and with all of you, I’ll be able to better understand the challenges we face, get a clearer picture of the work being done, and most importantly, find meaningful ways to support efforts that will improve the overall quality of life in Trophy Club.

what are the biggest challenges facing the town?

One of our biggest challenges is improving our parks, recreation areas, and thoroughfares.

These spaces create the first impression for new neighbors, visitors, and friends. While we have a proposed master plan, I strongly believe in the philosophy of Constant and Never-Ending Improvement.

I am committed to working tirelessly to enhance our community and make it a place we can all be proud of.

White Fence

What experience can you bring?

I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Highland HOA Board for the past six years and was recently re-elected for another two-year term.

How will this experience add value while keeping a close eye on financials?

While I can’t share the exact dollar amounts with you, I can give you an idea of how things have evolved by looking at percentages.

Let's start with $1.

In 2018 that $1 covered the following basic services:

  • Tree care

  • Lawn maintenance (mowing, fertilizing, etc.)

  • Watering

  • Flowers

  • Sprinkler repairs

Fast forward to 2024, and the cost for those same services is now about $.93 on the dollar (excluding inflation). If we factor in inflation, those services would actually cost $1.21. Despite this, we’ve still been able to improve and expand our offerings while reducing overall spending.

Trimming Shrubs

tree maintenance and recycling

Trees are now trimmed every two years, and we upcycle about 19 cubic yards of trimmings, donating them to Living Earth where they’re turned into mulch.

Trowel and Soil

ensuring healthy
Trees

We feed our trees twice a year. After sending soil samples to Texas A&M, we follow their expert recommendations to make sure the trees are properly nourished

Flower Bulb

increased flower planting

In 2018 we planted 12,000 flowers in spring and fall. Today, that number is up to 24,000 flowers.

here's how we enhanced the community while reducing expenses...
Decorated Antique Truck

donating
fall DECORATIONS

For Halloween and Thanksgiving, we decorate all our entrances with pumpkins and bales of hay, and once the displays are taken down, we donate everything to a local farm.

American Flags

SUPPORTING SERVICE MEMBERS

We proudly display U.S. and military flags (112 in total) at all our entrances for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Veterans Day to show our deep support for the military. As a veteran, I’m especially grateful that communities like Turnberry, Abby Moore, and Falcon Estates have followed suit in honoring our military with flag displays. It’s not about who gets the credit, it’s about coming together to demonstrate our unwavering support for those who serve.

Decorated Christmas Tree

brightening up
entrances

For the holidays, we’ve added lighted decorations, including wrapped trees and illuminated entrances.

Light Bulbs

Costs

We added lighting to the HOA entrances in 2021, and now the electricity costs are covered by the savings we’ve generated.

By being strategic and thoughtful with our resources, we’ve not only maintained but improved our community’s appearance and services.

It’s all about finding ways to do more with less, and I’ll continue to carry that mindset forward as I serve.
